Music and Media Courses are run by Skillnet Group.
People with learning difficulties/disabilities are supported to gain accredited qualifications with Gateway Qualifications.
The 'Progression into Music Skills' and 'Progression into Media Arts' qualification can be taken at either Entry Level 3, Level 1 or Level 2 as an award (short course) or certificate (longer course).
People build their own courses from a selection of units depending on what they would like to learn. This can include:
• Learning instruments such as guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keyboards
• Song writing
• Composing music
• DJ skills
• Recording
• Music technology
• Playing in a band
• Music theory
• Film making
• Digital Photography
• Using the Internet
• Radio Production
• Creative Writing
• Graphic Design
There is also a selection of “core units” which cover key skills such as working in a team and developing employment related skills.
