SSAFA was formed in 1885 to support the families of troops and sailors who were part of the 2nd Expeditionary Force to Egypt. The national organization has a variety of services to support the serving and veteran community and here in Kent our volunteers work with those from a military family seeking help on a one to one basis. We work with the military benevolent funds to raise grants where relevant. The process is by application form supported by documentation to prove military service and an explanation of the need.
